Tennessee Baptist Convention
New multi-purpose worship center
THE CHALLENGE
This facility is a replacement worship center for the Tennessee Baptist Convention’s retreat center on the Buffalo River. The exterior materials were chosen to harmonize with the spectacular natural environment. The building can accommodate as many as three separate programs simultaneously. The fan shaped sanctuary space creates a very intimate worship experience by not only bringing the seats much closer to the stage, but also by allowing people to view the faces of their fellow worshippers.
Manous Design provided architectural and structural engineering services plus interior, landscape and lighting design. Manous Design managed all civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services. Manous Design also coordinated closely with the sound and lighting vendors.
